Fresh off the AREC 2018 stage, WHITEFOX have opened a second office in Melbourne. (Also in WHITEFOX news ‘the Fish’ has left the party on a high note, announcing his retirement from real estate moving onto bigger and better things, football or something…)
Belle Property have cemented their plans to tackle the Victorian market, bringing on veteran agent Adam Joske as Head of Victoria.

DEPT OF PM TRAINING Another ‘cat’ came racing out of the bag in a bit of a social media frenzy last night (thanks for the DMs -- we are getting there!) and it’s on... there will be a round of Transform for Property Managers, BDMs, department managers, admins, leaders (basically all things PM) that we have planned out in partnership the team at Real+. It will be another jam packed, 30-day thrill ride
challenge with classes commencing 6 July.
There will be lots of cool stuff along the way from
us and the Real+ team as well as the top six winning tickets to ARPM 2018. Registrations ($99) are not open yet, but will be by the weekend. DEPT OF PREDICTIONS (AND BUDGETS) All the State budgets have been handed down, minus SA who have to wait because of their in government. And it’s, you know, a mixed bag.
The ACT did what economists in all states were hoping their governments would do and abolished stamp duty for FHBs; in fact, they were the only ones to make any changes to the divisive tax - all other states held firm (probably helped along by the massive income the tax provides). Sandra Sully last night on the news used the B word a lot - as there has never been a surplus in NSW (almost $4B) like it before, so while spending is up on infrastructure there are still affordability issues (smashed avo anyone?) to consider.
Low-income housing won in some states, and lost in others, and foreign buyers got a whack in WA. It's been a bit of a slow news week for us this week but we are pens ready for a flurry of commentary/press releases this morning; find out what happened in your state in our national

MOVING HOME, BUT AS NOT WE KNOW IT Imagine having to leave your home, not because it’s been sold, but because there is a war going on outside the front door. This year, the United Nations has released a new report stating that a record 68.5
million individuals have now been displaced worldwide due to war, poverty, persecution and other events. Today, being World Refugee Day, you are bound to be hearing a fair bit about this as the UN commemorates the strength, courage, and perseverance of millions of refugees, plus many suggestions on how you can support them. The theme for this year will be ‘Now More Than Ever, We Need to Stand with Refugees’. We have plenty of people in the industry that have left their countries and had to start over in different careers, and have done amazingly well as a result of their new environments (and of course hard work!).
OH WHAT A FEELING... WHEN WE'RE DANCING ON THE CEILING Today is one of our favourite 'days of the year' to celebrate; Lionel Richie’s Birthday. Apart from his own massive collection of hits, he also co-wrote the 1985 charity single "We Are the World" with Michael Jackson, which sold over 20 million copies (kind of appropriate for World Refugee Day, right?)
